ifs 115 homeworks
Feb 23 - HW #4
Another easy one:
- By next class, Mar 9, complete Units I, J and P. We have been pretty
zealous in following the directions of each unit in the book; do not do
this for Unit P, however. You can use any HTML file you have to play with.
That's it. We will have completed Units A-J and P from the text. Pretty
good...
The remaining units are:
- Units K & L & O - these units deal with publishing your site to an
ISP that supports FrontPage (many do)
- Units M & N - these units deal with incorporating content from other
Microsoft products into your site, like Word, Access, etc.
Feb 9 - HW #3
Homework #3 is easy:
- By next class Feb 23, you should have completed Units G & H from our
text. This means that you will have completed Units A-H... Yow!
Note: I changed the Units due next class because we didn't have time
to do them in class last time. I will grade your completion of Units A-H next
class. Thanks... yow, bill
Over the next two weeks, it's time to focus on your project and your
presentation... this is spelled out in the Projects page
Jan 26 - HW #2
OK, so the WebBoard wasn't a roaring success... "Plan B"
Due in 1 week... next Saturday Feb 2
- Please add an IFS 115 page to your site
- Add a folder called "ifs115" to your w: drive
- Create a new web page in your ifs115/ folder called "index.htm".
Make it simple for now, just a title, your email (as a hyperlink), and
text describing that this page will be used for your IFS 115 work.
- Add an "IFS 115" link to your top web page and connect the
hyperlink to your ifs115/index.htm page.
- Now that you have a place to put your IFS 115 work, please add the
following to your IFS 115 page:
- Clip Art site - Add a hyperlink to a page that provides clip
art that you are considering using in your site. Also, add a description
of the site next to the hyperlink.
- Wallpaper site - Add a hyperlink to a page that provides
wallpaper that you are considering using in your site. Please include a
description of the site
- Similar site - Add a hyperlink to a page that has elements that
you admire or are considering adding to your site.
- Decide what area of specialization you want to focus on for your project.
If you are unsure, then email me, and we will start to work this out. I
would add a "My project" section to your IFS 115 page... you will
be adding to this (see part 2 below).
Email me ( wikrieger@noctrl.edu
) when you are done, and I will grade your work right off your web site. Get
it? If I don't hear from you by the 2nd, then you'll get a zero for this
part of the homework.
Due in 2 weeks... next class, Feb 9
- Please complete units E and F from our text. This continues the saga
(units A-D, that is) that we started in lab. So, use the web that you
created in lab as your starting point.
- Complete a preliminary Design Plan for your project. Write the plan in
HTML and add it to your IFS 115 page.
- Complete a preliminary storyboard for your project. These should be crude
sketches of each page you envision in your site. Bring them to class with
you.
- Work on your web site. Please add at least the following elements:
- Tables or frames
- Scan an image and add it to your site. The labs have scanners... ask
the lab attendant for help if you aren't familiar with scanners.
- If you want, you can move your main project web site over to FrontPage
webs, but I am not requiring you to do this... yet!
I will go over all this stuff with you at the next class... be prepared!
Jan 12 - HW #1
