PS - Remember that problem in class with two Eric Schmidts (one good and one pure evil)? We could figure out how to reach the good Eric Schmidt because the evil one (typically) snarfed the eric.schmidt web address for himself. Well, here's the answer:

Anyone's Noctrl web site can be accessed this way, in fact. See the pattern? students.noctrl.edu/ID. For example, here's my alternate address: faculty.noctrl.edu/wtkrieger/

Excellent!

Mon Feb 19, 2007

I'll hand back your Chapter 3 post homework, and we'll huddle around the campfire for a little midterm preview.

Here's a link to my dandy-lion homework solution... dandelion_farm.htm. Hey, if you had problems with this, here are some pointers:

  1. When you "Save as a Web Page" in Excel, choose "Selection: Sheet" rather than saving the entier workbook.
  2. Save your HTML file to your w: drive.
  3. Then, in FrontPage, add a link to this file using "Insert/Hyperlink".

Lucky 21! The midterm will be:
  1. Worth 30 points, or 30% of your final grade
  2. About 1/3 written and 2/3 problems you'll solve using Excel, ala the homework
  3. Will cover Chapters 1-3 in the book, plus any of the web-related stuff that we have covered in lecture/homework
  4. Lengthy... so please show up on time/early
You are encouraged to bring one side of one page of notes for the Midterm.
