lab #2a
Complete Units A-D in your text. Please note the following:
- You do not have to follow the example in the text to the letter. If
you want to change from their "Computer Corner" store example,
feel free. For example, I named my store "BillsBees Frisbee
Emporium". The main point is to complete the exercises on each page in
Units A-D.
- Create and save your webs to w:/webs, not your c: drive as the text tell
you. Also, be patient web saves are sometimes a little slow.
- In Unit C, page C-14, the page your want to import is now at: www.loc.gov/copyright/docs/circ1a.html
Show me your work when you are done!
lab #2b
Continue adding to your project web site. You can import your site to use
FrontPage webs, if you like. Try scanning an image in the lab. Experiment with
tables.
I will visit with you to discuss:
- what you have added to your site since class #1
- the direction of your project web site
- your area of specialization
- what you hope to accomplish by next class

lab #1a
Create a very basic personal web page using HTML. Go:
- Please use only the HTML view in FrontPage and type the tags in yourself.
I will show you how to do this prior to lab
- In your page, please use each of the basic tags listed at the end of
lecture at least once. Skip the hyperlink to a local file... we'll stick to
one page for right now.
- Don't worry too much about your page looking real spiffy yet... we'll
address that later.
- Save your work to w:/index.htm
- Show me your page when you're done
lab #1b
Continue with your web page using the Word-like basics of FrontPage:
- Please use each of the basic FrontPage capabilities listed in the
lecture at least once. This includes inserting a hyperlink to a local file
which will require you to create another HTML file.
- Hey, look at the HTML view now... aren't you glad you didn't have to type
all that in?
- Another way to look at the HTML of a web page is to use the View/Reveal
Tags. Try that. Selecting the View/Reveal Tags a second time removes the
effect from your page.
- Again, save your work to w:/index.htm
- Again, show me your work when you're happy
As it stands, your w: drive web page and files are only available to you
inside North Central College. I will show you how to make them visible outside
of NCC. Start at:
http://intranet.noctrl.edu
We want to "publish" your page, so that you can see it from the
internet. Unfortunately, you will still only be able to change or update from
NCC.
