The aux website

My website theme this year was a satire of addiction. You know, fantasy baseball as an addiction. (yeah, we got it, Bill)

Well, this is kind of funny. One of the sites I referenced in Step 1 The Beginning has since shut down: www.bsober.org. You'd think there would be enough addicts out there to support a website like this. (rim shot)

The sub-theme was baseball cards. Of course, that was my favorite part. Here are the cards from each page. These are all photos of cards from my nerdy collection. (excellent!)

  • 1971 Thurman Munson, image
  • 1972 Juan Marichal, image
  • 1973 Strikeout Leaders (Steve Carlton and Nolan ryan), image
  • 1974 Willie McCovey, image
  • 1975 Boog Powell, image
  • 1976 Johnny Bench, image
  • 1977 Bill Buckner, image
  • 1978 Strikeout Leaders (Phil Niekro and Nolan Ryan), image
  • 1979 Steve Stone, image
  • 1980 Rickey Henderson, image
  • 1981 Rick Monday, image

In many pages, I had a link or two to www.baseball-reference.com alongside my baseball cards. Baseball reference is just an amazing, incredible website. Best of the best!

There are two things I can say about the aux website every year: 1) No one reads this stuff, and 2) it's great fun! (ha)

Next year

It was a great, exciting regular season. OK - The playoffs were a little loogey, but it was still fun.

The constant with real baseball and LetsPlay3: There's always next year.

1981 Rick Monday
This is card #726, last one in the 1981 Topps set. Last card here, too.
Rick Monday hit 241 home runs in his career. Baseball reference will show you each one. www.baseball-reference.com/players/event_hr.fcgi?id=mondari01&t=b

Rick Monday was a Dodger and a Cub, but he is most famous for one game on April 25, 1976. Some losers jumped out of the stands at Dodger Stadium and were going to burn the American flag in center field when Rick Monday swooped in, grabbed the flag, and saved the day. (smile) I guess he still has that flag.

This 30 second video of Rick Monday's heroics is worthy. America!
