Recap - Sep 20, 2004

This was a fierce battle, close all week, that ended deadlocked at 4-4-2. The Storm continue on to the championship round based on the first tiebreaker, ERA. Sunday's pitching decided the contest in the end: Owner ace Johan Santana versus the Hilo's Mussina, Suppan and Davis.  Santana did not disappoint the Owner with 8 scoreless innings and 14 K's. Hilo countered, however, with the resurgent Mike Mussina who allowed a single earned run to the mighty Red Sox. Each ace registered a win. Jeff Suppan for the Storm was roughed up for 3 ER in just 4 innings, and that left Doug Davis with a Sunday night at Houston. Davis sealed a slot in the title game for the Storm by allowing a single earned run.
